    • “Stop Talking”

Posted at 9:54 AM by carmelasnelbaker
      May 29th

If you allow Him to, God will lead you to where you need to be, and open your heart and mind to what you are supposed to hear at the exact time He wants you to Hear it.

I suppose there are many different ways that people receive messages from God and possibly my way is the “care giving way” but I must tell you I wouldn’t want it to be any other way!

Life can get crazy in caregiving. The responsibilities for the safety and well being of another weighs very heavy on me. Caregiving work is like no other, in the fact that, if your scheduled relief does not show up……. you are not going home. I have been in many situations that staffing issues were that bad that I drove 8 people to my home to pick up my high school aged daughter and brought her to work with me, incase the overnight staff did not show, and I needed to also work the overnight. My company was ok with this and my daughter was the most awesome volunteer staff they could have ever asked for! In later years she referred to that situation as her “Wyatt 101” experience. My belief that God plants us where we need to be at the time we need to be there (if we allow him to) is enforced even more by her comment.

My latest “blessing messengers” have once again stole every ounce of my heart with their fun and quirky Conversations, Responses and Wisdom. Every one of them has responded to me with what I needed to hear with perfect timing and execution! It often is quite funny the genuine responses and reactions I hear in my fun filled caregiving days!

      “stop talking”

“there will be no more yoga”

“isn’t it funny that you were born in the same year…(insert some random historical fact I was never even aware of)”…

      “I Love you, Carmela”

“we’re taking the red car on a boat ride, and then my mom’s gray car on a boat ride….”

“Dave Saville said the chipmunks have to go back to the woods……chipmunks can’t go to school”

“stop that…..there will be no more funny!”.

I have always found that when “non-work” related areas in my life start becoming worrisome or stressful the “work” area ALWAYS stabilizes me, keeps me going and makes me smile!

My life has always been truly blessed by where God sends me. It may never appear to be the most sensible economical option and often times I am running ragged and sensless attemtping to balance 3 different jobs at once and keep my sanity, but in the end it ALWAYS ends up giving me spiritual clarity and genuine heartfelt Peace, Joy and Love for others.

Life can only be as joyful as you choose to make it. Our experiences in life may contain tragic losses and difficult events to endure and often times what feels like sensless encounters, but if the challenges result in stepping back and seeking Wisdom from the pain it will end with lots of Love, Peace and a genuine appreciation for those God has placed in your path to support you when you most needed it!

God offers us choice. God is Love. Our Choice cannot include anything but Pure Love. The only way to understand Pure Love is to (as my special messengers tell me….lol) “STOP TALKING”. Shutting off all the noise of the world, opinions of anyone other then God and Love…. brings us to Pure Love For Others.

Pure Love For Others takes emotional human anger away and Gives You Peace. Actions of LOVE not Anger COME FROM GOD.

Pray for others, do not put judgement on others.

Judgement toward another human being is NOT a choice any human or GROUP should make!

Lifting others in prayer, asking and listening for God’s Wisdom is what will bring PURE LOVE AND PEACE TO THE WORLD.

Pray for others. Pray for Pure Love and Peace for All.

With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love, Carmela

    • Show Up and Be Real

Posted at 9:47 PM by carmelasnelbaker
      May 27th

Recurring dreams where the road falls out from underneath me, and I find myself plunging into water, as the car sinks and the water rises I fight to get out and to the surface. Each time the fight was successful before waking up, but each reaccurance comes on a slightly different road but the same plunging fall and recovery.

The need to be prepared has always weighed heavy on me for quite some time. Hyper vigilance is a constant thing. Always feeling as though you need to be prepared for the next disaster only lasts until I make a plan in my mind of how I will get through it then I am able to rest.

I find it especially heightened when I am taking care of other people. If this would happen…… this is how I would react…… and so on. Once it is there it seems as though “it always just is” and simply becomes “your normal.”

God seems to find ways to lead us to other people who can benefit from our experiences. It often seems when working with the individuals that I do there is often a different level of connection. Like a secret link of understanding. Often times no words are even needed. I know that is a good thing and I LOVE the time I spend with ALL of my individuals, and always have.

Many of the individuals I have worked with in the past have been non-verbal. Once you learn an individuals needs and are able to understand their ways of communication it is an awesome feeling knowing that you are making a difference in their life and are able to see the genuine emotions that clearly communicate their feelings.

My heart breaks for all the people walking around without communication problems, but with low confidence or self esteem issues that seem to make it difficult for them to live honestly.

SO MANY people get senslessly hurt when people choose to lie or be deceitful.

People who are attempting to survive through serious life issues and trauma are once again traumatized by the dishonesty of others.

When this happens on a personal level we have choices and can stand up for ourselves and we can set boundaries and prevent any further hurt.

The saddest part of all is that on a National Level many of our LEADERS are constant offenders and attackers.

The human arrogance that some leaders are choosing to exhibit, the Constant Lies, Threats, Manipulations, Aggressive Tactics to get their way is Sickening.

Pray that they stop attempting to speak for God, pray that they tame their human arrogance and realize all people are living with imperfections including them.

Stop the childish name calling, insults and manipulations.

      Act like adults.

Choose to be real and stop the fake superiority, hate toward an opposing opinion and foolish finger pointing.

The average person who chooses honesty daily, who is attempting to survive and take care of others……. finds the inability of opposing parties to compromise and find common ground childish.

There is no time for that in the Average persons life……. Why can you not see constant stand offs and attacks only waist time and are unproductive.

Those who think so highly of themselves that they are unable to admit they have imperfections just like every other human being …….. should not be leaders ……. Stand up against Boastful Self Pride, Arrogance and Greed.

“Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.” Brene Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection

    • What if?

I appologize in advance because nothing I write here will probably make complete sense to anyone other then me. I cannot share details about others I take care of or that are involved in my life.

However, events, encounters and the questions that often get left behind, after traumatic events and the struggle to make sense out of so much hurt is not an uncommon dilemma.

I hope by sharing the hurts and questions that weigh so heavy on my heart it might make sense to someone struggling with the same questions.

There are way to many painful experiences that people go through that leave us devastated and searching for a path out of such deep hurt.

The things we have in common with others are not always apparent when we first meet someone.

The scars one has on their heart is not a visable trait for a passerby to see.

Time passes, we somehow find a way to move forward along with the rest of world but the hurts that hit the heart the hardest never really go away.

It is possible for people who appear to have amazing resiliency from past traumatic events to be truly living their lives as if they have been “cast in a roll in a play”. Survival is necessary because others depend on us.

Hearts scarred from life tragedies can identify with others “surviving” with scarred hearts, there is a heightened awarness and recognition of deep hurts in others.

Is the road less traveled the tragically broken heart that keeps walking even when your body simply wants to stop breathing?

Is the road less traveled the road where those with broken hearts attempt to seek out other “play actors” walking forward with hidden traumatic pain in an attempt to be the positive influence and offer the very support and love they desperatly need themselves?

Is the road less traveled the road that keeps an open heart and empathy toward all people in pain even those showing unsettled rage and aggression because of devestation and pain?

What if all of the hate in the world is emotionally misdirected hurt and rage?

What if the road less traveled is the road of silencing human feelings, the emotional pain and praying for the message of God to take over?

As I type this I sit here crying, the only words coming to mind are….. “now wait, now….. you just have to be smarter then the chair you are working on” ………… recalculating …… return to route

Please leave your thought below……… open a discussion with others….. share you thoughts, fears, hopes with others……

Nothing can ever be resolved without putting words to feelings, sharing experiences and most importantly being sensitive and empathetic to other situations

With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love, Carmela

Mother’s Day can sometimes be difficult. My mom died many years ago, even though her influence and memories are with me everyday I still do miss her presence.

I was awakened this morning by a phone call at 6AM to the most enthusiastic “Good Morning, Carmela”. It wasn’t because it was Mother’s Day…… Just a day that she was able to reach out to me by phone. I can’t really share details but even though it was a happy conversation and it TOTALLY warmed my heart and made my Mother’s Day complete! I am sitting here crying so hard…. Her struggle with mental health is real and I wish so badly there were easy fixes for such difficult problems! Please pray for everyone who struggles in this world with difficult situations.

      “May you be happy,

      May you be healthy,

May you be free from danger,

May you have ease of Well Being.”

To ALL the women who have touched a young hearts in a positive loving manner …… You are awesome…..

Mother’s Day is about Love………. Happy Mother’s Day to you……….The world needs LOVE

With Respect, Hope, Joy, and Love, Carmela

    • Recalculating………..Return to the Route

Posted at 10:24 PM by carmelasnelbaker
      May 5th

What if one day you woke up and everything that once was, is now completely different?

I know for sure that life is not easy. But I also know for sure that no matter how bad it is, it could always be worse. There will always be something to be grateful for when you have Faith.

To this day I can still hear my mom and dads voices from heaven reminding me how they supported me through a struggle. It often makes me smile the quirky phrases or references they often used.

“Now wait now…….you just have to be smarter than the chair you are working on” dad would say. My dad was a woodworker. I was the upholsterer. Lol

I loved to sew and upholstered many pieces. The fragile antique wood items challenged me. Dad came to my rescue on many occasions.

I know it is much harder to instruct someone and watch them struggle while learning the solution to the problem, then it is to take over do it for them.

I am glad dad chose the hard way and took the time to teach me how to solve problems and contemplate answers rather then taking over and doing it for me.

Being ‘Level Headed” “Humble” and “Wise” were all admirable traits of a good person in my dad’s book. Being open to new ideas and various opinions, were also good traits, but the utmost importance was having courage and confidence in our Inner Spirit.

My 11 year old grandson taught me that true courage comes from God. “I’ll be brave” he would say when being faced with yet another medical procedure or difficult challenge. When he was particularly fearful he would fold his hands a pray. “Dear God, Please take the scary stuff away.” Prayer is powerful when faith is deep.

“When I found that I knew not only that there was God but that I was a child of God, when I understood that, When I comprehended that, more than that, when I internalized that, ingested that, I became courageous.” Dr. Maya Angelou

I find myself hesitating as I write this. The need to use the right words to communicate clearly is Huge! Although my Faith and understanding has never been stronger I worry that the very problem itself is Not the Words that are written, or what we are reading once it is written ….. The real problem lies in the Level of Faith the reader has in what is True.

If your faith is shallow what you read will be understood at the limited level your human understanding will allow. Without Faith in a Higher Power we are limited in our understanding of what is Right and what is True.

It is impossible to communicate the Truth if the reader or the writer has little Faith in what is True.

Without Truth there is nothing. Without Faith there IS no Truth.

In a world of many people, many languages and many levels of Faith, it is wrong for a person, Political Party, or Religious Right group to attempt to be the enforcers of God’s word. The very thought a Church or Political Group would even WANT to make laws and force others to follow those laws is a HUGE example of their Faulty level of faith!

When you feel the need to take over and do things yourself so that your level of understanding is enforced, you are showing how truly WEAK your faith really is…….. HAVE YOU NOT MISSED THE POINT OF PRAYER AND THE POWER OF YOUR GOD?

WHEN YOU FEEL THE NEED TO BLOCK SOMEONE BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE THE OTHER HUMAN WILL FAIL TO SEE IT AT “FACE VALUE” ……. YOU ARE SHOWING WHAT LITTLE FAITH YOU HAVE IN GOD!

IS IT NOT WISER TO PRAY TO THE HIGHER POWER?

IS IT NOT WISER TO ASK FOR GOD’S WISDOM AND GUIDANCE DURING LIFE’S DIFFICULT MOMENTS?

IS IT NOT WISER TO PRAY FOR ALL OF THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED OF GUIDENCE?

DIDN’T JESUS TEACH HIS DISCIPLES HOW TO PRAY?

Re-evaluate your level of Faith………. Let go of human arrogance……..let go of the need to control the outcome of your prayers……… Let God be in control……..Pray for the courage to allow his will to be done as Jesus taught us………..

With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love, Carmela
