It is truly a blessing to meet people with like minded thoughts. People who have survived similar situations as you have, however life should not be a “club” atmosphere where we can only feel truly safe and comfortable being able to express ourselves with those whose lives and beliefs are in alignment with our own.
Growth and improvement only happens when we are open to listening to each other, taking ownership when we misstep, and holding a place in our hearts for compromise.
What good can ever come when we are trapped in the middle of total “foolishness” and constant attempts at controlling the narrative to only what some individuals wish it to be.
Disaray, Chaos, and Disorder. People belittled and threatened who speak anything but praise for those in authority is truly quite a concerning and frightening place to be!
Perspective is everything. How we choose to see and interpret a situation shapes our entire reality. We appear to be at a total standoff, being controlled by people in power by smothering people to silence and fear, possibly to portray an altered reality simply for their own personal gains.
As a caregiver I have taken care of many different types of personalities. and worked within many different situations and family dynamics.
I have worked with people who were victims of “over authoritative” situations as well as people who themselves often were over authoritative personalities who found it impossible to listen or reason with an opposing opinion.
Growth and improvement only happens when we are open to listening to each other, taking ownership when we misstep, and holding a place in our hearts for compromise.
What Hope do we have of ever moving forward from this place if we allow ourselves to be so fearful of “out of control authority” that we allow ourselves to simply continue on taking up for a “side” and claiming one is Evil and the other is Good?
Isn’t the very act of taking a “high horse” stance toward “either side” and joining in the process of casting judgment and condemnation, belittling another person for a differing opinion also a form of devaluing basic human rights for power and personal gain?
Possibly instead of remaining divided and attacking each other, we would be better off to educate ourselves in communication skills, and begin focusing on kindness, having consideration for an opposing view, using respectful and honest communication without judgement and attack toward an opposing view.
Rather then attempting to gain control start joining together to unite for a common purpose and find Peace.
Is it not more appropriate to engage in respectful communication about hopes and wishes for future improvements than attacking, condemning and shaming past actions of others and then proceeding to silencing and belittling anyone who dares to differ?
With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love, Carmela
