    • Grateful for the inspiration and wisdom shared by others

Might it be within the the repetitive movement of every inhale and exhale where we find complete understanding and connection to all living beings.

Although we may never be able to find complete answers to many difficult questions or fully comprehend reasons for many painful events that have unfolded in our lifetimes, what we can be sure of, is that we are not alone in encountering painful experiences.

Some days working toward improvements and attempting to maintain forward motion can be a major task.

For some reason this movie came to mind this morning and I am feeling the need to share.

The movie Breathe is based on a true story of Robin Cavendish, the story of a man who became paralyzed from polio in 1958 at the age of 28. Doctors gave him only a few months to live however he went on to live for 30 more years with his wife, Diane . Together, they left the hospital, developed groundbreaking medical innovations like a wheelchair with a built-in respirator, and traveled the world to advocate for the independence of people with severe disabilities.  ( A trailer for this movie can be viewed on YouTube and the Movie is available on Amazon)

Many years ago I was working as a traveling in home caregiver to mostly elderly individuals, however several of my visits were younger individuals who were living with severe disabilities due to progressive medical diagnosis.

To those who I have been honored to assist with waking to face each day and return to assist with getting to bed for rest at night, I am truly grateful for the friendships and wisdom you have shared with me.

I have met some of the strongest people who truly deserved the highest respect.

Our world and emotional understanding of each others existence is relative only to our own experiences in life…… however, it is the sharing of our individual experiences that allows us to learn from each other.

With Respect, Hope, Joy, and Love,  Carmela

    • Caution…… proceed with care ❤️ and respect

I believe I must be feeling many of the same things a majority of Americans might also be feeling but afraid to say for fear of offending a friend or being ostracized for having a different opinion then someone else.

Life in America has changed significantly and in my opinion…… I most genuinely dislike the road we are on!!!! I am completely aware that “in current day America” when you express an opinion that differs from another person it is very common for people who think differently then you to now “place a label on you and call you “a hater” …… for daring to express your opinion!

It doesn’t matter how or why we ended up at this point…… what truly matters is continuing forward this way seems so foreign and “un-American” to me.

I am quite aware that our history as Americans was never perfect and discrimination, hate, and division was very much an active part of our history….. possibly because I was very young when it was happening, my exposure was limited and my parents were not “inflamers” constantly discussing only one very opinionated mindset or view (like what is available today with 24 hour 7 days a week opinionated televised coverage).

I am totally at a loss for why our past division felt less scary to me then our current division does….but what I do know for sure is that my career choice for caring for people…. Has taught me love for ALL regardless of cultural upbringing, religious believes, political opinions, physical appearances, physical or mental abilities. We NEED to be WILLING TO SEE THE PERSON FIRST! We need to get away from division by “NOT LABELING PEOPLE”…….. choosing sides or dividing into groups.

Even if you feel extremely devoted to your Christian faith it is imperative that we love all people and pray for them. As a Christian I have complete faith in the power of God and feel I should never be judgmental of other human beings or question their independent beliefs. We can also support and respect people of differing beliefs without believing they are doing something wrong simply because their footsteps may not follow the exact path as the one I may have chosen to follow.

Today’s world seems to want to choose sides and make life into a “competitive sport” atmosphere and thrive on who should “win” or who is the “most right” I find this incredibly SAD we are ALL HUMANS. We all feel pain, we all are devastated by the loss of a loved one no matter what side we are on……and because we are all human we all will sometimes make mistakes, sometimes mispeak, sometimes bleed, feel trauma and possibly speak with emotions over logic…… instead OF LEADING with “chosen religious belief, political party affiliation, or any other cultural belief or “LABLE” we may strongly believe in…….. let’s start seeing each other and loving each other as people first!

Let’s unanimously refrain from labeling each other in descriptive ways, making fun of and excluding those with differences and begin showing respect to all people! Nothing will ever change if we approach life as a competitive sport “label” each other and divide into sides! ☹️

Unity should not be a “power grab” by the richest, the loudest, the scariest or most threatening individuals…… if this happens haven’t we totally lost our identity as the United States…. Isn’t individual Unity of it’s citizens the very distinctive trait that American Identity thrives on?

With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love, Carmela

    • Darkness and Light

Posted at 9:25 AM by carmelasnelbaker
      Dec 17th

As Seekers of Light we long for Truth and Simplicity. With awareness that experiencing darkness is a necessary part of total and complete appreciation and recognition of Light. Below I am sharing a favorite song that is worth reflecting on written by Jason Marz ……. 93 Million Miles From The Sun.

I pray we all seek the Light today and resist the Darkness……

      https://youtu.be/bcQwIxRcaYs?si=7KlegOYLBSs0rqDB

      The lyrics are below……….

93 Million miles from the sun

      People get ready, get ready

      ‘Cause here it comes,

      it’s a light A beautiful light,

over the horizon Into our eyes

      Oh, my, my how beautiful

      Oh, my beautiful mother

      She told me:

Son, in life you’re gonna go far

      If you do it right,

      you’ll love where you are

      Just know, wherever you go

      You can always come home

240 Thousand miles from the moon

We’ve come a long way to belong here

To share this view of the night

      A glorious night

Over the horizon is another bright sky

      Oh, my, my how beautiful

      Oh, my irrefutable father

      He told me, son,

      sometimes it may seem dark

But the absence of the light is a necessary part

      Just know, you’re never alone

You can always come back home

      You can always come back

Every road is a slippery slope

There is always a hand that you can hold on to

      Looking deeper through the telescope

You can see that your home’s inside of you

Just know, that wherever you go

      No, you’re never alone

You will always get back home

93 Million miles from the sun

      People get ready, get ready

‘Cause here it comes, it’s a light

      A beautiful light,

over the horizon Into our eyes…………..

With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love, Carmela

    • Our World Needs A No Finger Pointing Zone….Our Only Hope For World Peace

Posted at 11:56 AM by carmelasnelbaker
      Jun 25th

I read a very interesting post today from Wandering 40 days titled …. A Call To Love, Regardless! I hope you will read his post by clicking on the link.

He states, “If we can only identify with and love people who have experienced what we have experienced, then we will fail to love. Just because I haven’t had cancer doesn’t mean I can’t sit and cry with a friend who does. That is love. Just because someone’s struggle is far different from mine doesn’t mean I can’t pause and listen to their heartache and longing for love.”

He also brings up the point that “To value life is to love all humans, regardless of their beliefs. It is not a prerequisite to believe as they do in order to love them.”

This makes me wonder if the individuals who speak out and protest with angry words and rage against the opinions that oppose their own, form protests and take actions to divide and change people to their way of thinking are doing so out of fear?

Did they not feel True Unconditional Love from childhood? Did they not learn peaceful solutions to disagreements or misunderstandings? Might this be why they are only comfortable with feelings that mirror their own limited beliefs and conditions?

Are their actions based in survival tactics….. I hurt…. I now make someone else hurt?

Do they not realize that when we point a finger at another person there are three of our fingers that point back at ourselves?

      2

Maybe God intended it to be this way? Maybe he wants us to examine why we are filled with emotions, why we are pointing a finger and criticizing another person for having a different opinion, or living their life differently than our own. Maybe he is asking us to simply reach out with Agape Love. Maybe those three fingers pointing back at us signify Agape Love, The Holy Trinity.

      agape1

Maybe those three fingers that point toward our own heart are really reminding us to….     Act in Love.

We can Love a person without loving their actions or opinions.

When we are filled with Divine and Spiritual Awareness and completely understand that as a Child of God we are Loved Unconditionally, it is only then that we can truly Love others and not fear or feel threatened by our differences.

      true love

Trusting in Divine Guidance and choosing to Live in Love gives you a power that is super natural and greater than all understanding. God’s wisdom will provide you with safety, clarity, strength and a wealth of support around each and every corner!  The beauty of God’s loving kindness will fill you with unexplainable levels of Peace, Love, Joy, Contentment, Wisdom,  Understanding and Hope.

Please pray for those in need, so they may look to the heavens for truth and wisdom to begin living in Love and not fear. It is not until you are honest with yourself that your life will be open to a Divine Love and Protection that surpasses all understanding.

With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love,  Carmela
