    • Darkness and Light

Posted at 9:25 AM by carmelasnelbaker
      Dec 17th

As Seekers of Light we long for Truth and Simplicity. With awareness that experiencing darkness is a necessary part of total and complete appreciation and recognition of Light. Below I am sharing a favorite song that is worth reflecting on written by Jason Marz ……. 93 Million Miles From The Sun.

I pray we all seek the Light today and resist the Darkness……

      https://youtu.be/bcQwIxRcaYs?si=7KlegOYLBSs0rqDB

      The lyrics are below……….

93 Million miles from the sun

      People get ready, get ready

      ‘Cause here it comes,

      it’s a light A beautiful light,

over the horizon Into our eyes

      Oh, my, my how beautiful

      Oh, my beautiful mother

      She told me:

Son, in life you’re gonna go far

      If you do it right,

      you’ll love where you are

      Just know, wherever you go

      You can always come home

240 Thousand miles from the moon

We’ve come a long way to belong here

To share this view of the night

      A glorious night

Over the horizon is another bright sky

      Oh, my, my how beautiful

      Oh, my irrefutable father

      He told me, son,

      sometimes it may seem dark

But the absence of the light is a necessary part

      Just know, you’re never alone

You can always come back home

      You can always come back

Every road is a slippery slope

There is always a hand that you can hold on to

      Looking deeper through the telescope

You can see that your home’s inside of you

Just know, that wherever you go

      No, you’re never alone

You will always get back home

93 Million miles from the sun

      People get ready, get ready

‘Cause here it comes, it’s a light

      A beautiful light,

over the horizon Into our eyes…………..

With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love, Carmela

    • Powerful Lessons Often Unfold Right Before You …and Some Days Heaven Seems Almost Close Enough to Touch…..

Posted at 9:26 PM by carmelasnelbaker
      Sep 21st

Thank You to the person who left this message in my path on an extremely disappointing and hopelessly low day!

Life can often become overwhelming and confusing but to those whose families have experienced the loss of a child nothing ever compares to the level of devastation and void that experience leaves behind.

These life altering events leave you changed forever. The understanding and importance of presence….. “positive heart energy” and awareness of truly being fortunate to “Just Be With” a Loved one is what becomes important to you along with the realization that all else lacks importance. You do not long or need to be entertained, or constantly feeling the need to be broadcasting exciting trips, meals or purchases, but the simplicity of sharing space and time with someone you Love is ultimately the biggest treasure, privilege and Gift anyone could ask for.

Someone once told me that “You have the Strength within you to be Appreciative and Joyful with what God has given you…… always be Joyful and Appreciate the Moment You Are In and the Gifts that God has Trusted you with……..But never be boastful and intentionally attempt to hurt others with what you are given.

There is No better place to feel the importance of a single moment in time then Nature, and what beautiful lessons and examples of survival and endurance can be seen unfolding in front of you if you quiet the noise long enough to hear or see them. Never be too busy needing to do things…. be entertained…. or accumulate stuff…. to appreciate just spending time with others and appreciating the moment you are in and the heart energy of another persons soul.

With Respect, Hope, Joy, and Love, Carmela

    • No Stocking Up On Bread And Milk For This Mama :)

      Mar 15th

This week we are shoveling out from a large snow storm that showered our area with 12 to 18 inches of snow.  News reports predicted the event giving people time to prepare for the temporary changes a large snowfall causes in our daily routines.

The video below of an eagle sitting on her nest during the snow storm makes me think of the bible verse Matthew 6:25-2725… Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26: Look at the birds of the air; They do not sow or reap or gather into barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27: Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan?…

I wonder if wildlife ever has any moments of fear or dread when facing up coming blizzards that  sometimes happen in our life as people do who have lived through difficult days.

What an awesome glimpse at the strength and resilience of wildlife.

As a caregiver who travels to different locations my first action when hearing the storm forecast was begging the garage to fit me in to replace two tread worn tires with a new set to help ensure my safe arrival.

Next step was packing the vehicle with an assortment of safety and emergency supplies so I was well prepared for worst case scenario. The office calls with the game plan of stationing a caregiver at each of our 24 hour care locations for the 24 hour duration. This would help ensure our patients coverage and keep the highway travels to a minimum.

I show up with my “in case” supplies in tow. I was well prepared for possible power outage or lengthy stay. Thankfully my “in case” supplies were not necessary and we were just able to enjoy a relaxing visit watching the snow pile up and enjoy each others company.

My patient commented that I must have been a Girl Scout because I came so prepared. When I had to explain to her “Unfortunately no, I was a Brownie drop out.” we both got a good chuckle.

My preparedness comes from many difficult life events that has taught me to rely on God’s wisdom to give me strength and direction. We all have the ability to survive and thrive independently if we search deep within and find strength from the Higher power. It may not always be easy but it is possible with prayer and Divine Guidance.

Like the verse says “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan?”

Thank you Mother Eagle for reminding us to Trust more and worry less.

Pray for strength and wisdom then relax into the Joy and Peace that Divine Guidance provides.

With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love,  Carmela

I decided to share a blog post from 3 years ago. Today the Daily Post Challenge was the word Healthy.

I have always found great enjoyment in my pets whether small or large pets they put joy in my days. I found an article on the WebMD site that states 6 ways a pet can improve your health. I will include the link here so you can read the details. A healthier heart, stress soother, social magnets, Better mood/more meaning, benefits baby’s immune system, and social support for autism, is a quick rundown of the reasons.

I hope you enjoy my very short but fun movie of Hallie when she was a baby. She did a lot of traveling as a Therapy Lamb this is the reason she is wearing the diaper, I am sure we had just returned from our travels.

Hope this post gives you a smile:) If gave me a much needed one!
